Supersonic distance sensors enable precise and non-contact distance
measurement to the heading face in pipe jacking with open face shields.
In order to observe the procedure of controlled excavation and to prevent
the excavation going ahead of the shield the SDV Ultra Module can be added
to the SDV system. The use of SDV Ultra minimizes the risk of collapses
at the surface!
The Supersonic distance sensor will be installed in the machine can and
continuously measures the distance between machine can and heading face.
As soon as the distance exceeds a predefined value a warning will be given
to the operator.
